About Us
Mary and Jason are the husband and wife team behind Penny + Clover – the industry’s first floral vending company. As two halves of the same operation, Mary and Jason formed Penny + Clover, bringing their own strengths and visions together to bring beauty and joy to your life.
For as long as she can remember, Mary wanted to create, to make things beautiful. She didn’t exactly know how to make a career out of it though, so she started by following in the footsteps of her mother by becoming a teacher. Though she adored the little minds that came into her classroom for the better part of 15 years, Mary always felt there was something missing. Something just wasn’t clicking into place.
It often takes a wake-up call to see that we’re given this one and glorious life to make as beautiful as possible. Mary’s “wake up” came by way of cancer. The night of the diagnosis, while out on a family date, and with the support of her husband Jason and two boys, Henry and Jack, Mary decided to leave a profession that wasn’t fulfilling the beauty she wanted out of life.
With the help of Jason and a global pandemic, the idea of Penny + Clover began to take shape. With each passing day, the idea grew, and before she knew it, Mary’s dreams were literally coming true in front of her. A dream that she never even knew could become a reality was born.
Jason has spent his professional career in the IT industry for most of his life, working for Microsoft and operating successful IT companies that he’s started along the way. A natural entrepreneur, Jason is a problem solver, deeply focused on customer experience and finding ways to make any process efficient and repeatable.
“I never thought I’d be in the flower business, but when I started looking into what it would take for Mary to open a brick-and-mortar flower shop in our hometown, I crossed paths with Alex Frost from HyperVend and discovered his cutting-edge floral vending machines.”
One thing led to another, and Jason decided to scrap the brick-and-mortar approach, choosing instead to build a business around vending machines and online sales. Rather than worrying about people walking through a storefront door and hopefully buying something, Jason and Mary opted to place their products in high-traffic areas where they knew people would be.
With the vision of an artist and the business savvy of a successful entrepreneur, Mary and Jason are thrilled to bring their dreams to life by bringing flowers to your front door. From the darkest day of their lives to the present, Mary and Jason have had life’s beauty foremost in their minds.
